Amish Rejection of Government Mandates

Every clear and forward thinking person in the North Country should be supporting and watching the court cases of the 13 men charged with violating building permit rules.

How people can be so naive, as to think, government can think and rule their lives for them, is beyond me. History itself has shown over and over, the fallacy of the populate shifting its rightful responsibility of its own guidance to the government, has always ended in failure.

America, being a capitalist structured system, at least it was, is particularly vulnerable to this concept. Government control, amounts to nothing more than subsidizing of behavior. Once the seeds of government subsidy are sown, there is no end until the "seed bank" is exhausted, bringing on utter chaos.

Our country is not far from this point, in my opinion. Those people that think government can solve their problems better than they can, are soon to be particularly disappointed! Not only is government failing at the present time, but the seed bank is about to fail.

Stop and think about it! What business does the government have in mandating that you, have a smoke detector in your house. At the very least, that should be a mandate of your insurance company, if you are insured. Technology can be a wonderful thing, but all too often it is used as a crutch for those that don't desire to be accountable for themselves. The Amish have no problem with being accountable for themselves. They feel if their house burns, it is THEIR responsibility to provide another. Also, in a more subtle issue, they are more vigilant in being watchful over the dangers which might cause such a fire. This is a skill, that is an offshoot of the LACK of technology, and plenty of them exist, but are often overlooked by the more modern populate.

Our country's very beginning, was based on "liberty and the pursuit of happiness". These traits have thrown to the wind, by the ever do gooding liberals, who always have a retort of how sacrificing just a bit of that LIBERTY will be so good for you!

Unless we as citizen's return to the concept of letting people live as they desire to live, and expressing their rightful guarantee under our constitution we as a nation are doomed to proceed full speed over the cliff to destruction.
